ESDA Bringing Panasonic Training to the October 2013 Monthly Meeting

Robin Rivas Covering Panasonic Top-end VZ/ZT Model Troubleshooting

Join us on Wednesday October 9, 2013 for an evening of Panasonic training with Robin Rivas, Panasonic Midwest  Regional Service Representative. Robin will bring us a training update of actual field fixes for troubleshooting Panasonic’s Top-end VZ/ZT Models.  Don’t miss this training opportunity normally reserved only for ASCs!

If enough people sign up in advance we will plan for a buffet dinner, or dinner will be from the menu. In either case the dinner itself we be at your own expense and will start at 7 PM. The program will begin promptly at 8 PM.

THANKS to Curtis Danner of Danneronics and Fermi Lab for another excellent presentation on safety on March 13, 2013. We have created a new forum called “Safety Information” so ESDA members can access this important reference information at any time. THANKS again to Curtis for keeping this issue in our thoughts. We look forward to another presentation at the summer conference.

Big Thanks to Steve Gelman of Sharp

Our thanks go out to Steve Gelman for another excellent evening of training in February!  Steve provided us with some great new information and training on Sharp’s New 90 inch TV  and 80 inch white board sets.  We can’t make these events happen without our industry partners, so the next time you see Steve, make sure to say thanks!

The March ESDA Monthly Meeting is Wednesday, March 13th, Featuring a Safety Update by Curtis Danner

Hailing from Chicago, Curtis Danner, CET, MST, has been in the electronics industry since 1975 and has run his own company, Danneronics Service for the past 29 years.  Along with his own service center, Curtis has been a technician at Fermi National Laboratory since 1970, and is currently Technical Supervisor for the PPD Electrical Engineering Department.  Curtis will bring his consumer and industrial expertise to this meeting to update us on safety for techs and customers, in the shop and in the home. Curtis will cover the following at the March meeting:

  • Safety Awareness
  • LOTO – Lock Out Tag Out
  • PPE Personal Protective Equipment
  • Best Practices
  • Useful Resources

George Weiss is just back from the spring NESDA board meeting with information to share with us, and we’ll be doing the final planning for the summer conference.

The long overdue exit surveys for 2011 MWSC participants will also be available at the meeting.  The survey form is also available at the conference website, mwsc.esdaweb.org/2011survey or by clicking this link.  Please take a moment to fill out the form in person or online; it helps us plan for future events.
