The Next ESDA Meeting Will Be Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

Plan now to attend the March 14th, 2012 ESDA meeting featuring our own Chairman George Weiss just back from the winter service summit with reports from around the service world. This plans to be an open “State of the Industry” forum to review and discuss the state of our industry, coming trends, and more.  Also sharing the program will be our own Curtis Danner who will present important information on product safety for servicers.  Curtis also has first hand information to share regarding a low cost credit card processor.

Stay SHARP with an evening of Sharp training!

Everyone – members as well as non members – are welcome to start off the new year with our first training offering for 2012. Plan to attend the Wednesday February 8th, 2012 ESDA meeting with our friend Steve Gelman from Sharp Electronics. Steve will share information on the new 70 and 80″ AQUOS sets from Sharp as well how Sharp adapted touch screen technology to the new large screen sets. Steve also has the latest symptom fixes as well as  updated industry initialization procedures.

The Midwest Summer Conference Website is now on line!

The Midwest Summer Conference will again be held at the Four Winds by Sheraton in Peoria, Illinois.  Join us June 28,29,30 and July 1 for what promises to be another informative and enjoyable weekend of training and networking. This conference is run by SERVICERS for SERVICERS and provides and invaluable forum to share ideas, preview new programs and products and receive managerial and technical training that is so essential to business today.  The conference website is now live and ready to take your on line reservations at http://mwsc.esdaweb.org . ESDA Meets the second Wednesday of each month.  Future programs in the works include a program on retail diversity opportunities, important consumer electronics safety issues, and more. Stay tuned for  details.

The next Electronic Service Dealers Association monthly meeting will be next Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

The program will begin at 7:30 pm and feature a short presentation by Dave Kliss, CET/CSM/MST on LCD lamp replacement and the use of the HR Diemen model TL1040 CCFL Lamp tester as a back light troubleshooting tool. Dave will also show you how to build a UHP lamp tester.

ESDA Welcomes a New Member: Matt’s TV

The Electronic Service Dealers Association is proud to welcome our newest member, Matt’s TV & Electronics from Tinley Park, Illinois!

Walter Jones, owner of Matt’s TV & Electronics, attended the monthly ESDA Meeting on April 13th, 2011, and was officially inducted into the association by ESDA President Frank Stillson.

We welcome Walter and Matt’s TV & Electronics to ESDA, and look forward to seeing them in the future as they take advantage of all the benefits ESDA has to offer.
